ARCHITECTURALBarry Hood began working with glass in 1974. Initially, he spent 3 years restoring old stained glass windows and that experience led to the commissioned architectural glass business that he still operates today. He was at the forefront of the etched glass revival of the 1970's and 80's. His work is featured in the book ETCHED GLASS, Techniques and Design [Hand Books Press, 1998] and has been in magazines and newspapers around the country. Barry's client list includes such celebrities as Julia Roberts, Andi MacDowell and Jim Nabors, not to mention companies and residences from around the world."One of the things that has kept my interest over the years is that there are just so many different techniques that you can use with glass," says Hood. "It never gets boring." And so, it's on to the next project... Hoping for something creative and challenging, and always something that is both beautiful and evocative. |
